Take a look at my

Priorities for Walker

I’m running for Walker City Commission because I care about keeping Walker safe, stable, welcoming, and well-run. My priorities are based on the things residents count on every day: safe neighborhoods, responsible budgeting, reliable infrastructure, and thoughtful growth.

As Walker continues to grow and change, I believe city decisions should be practical, transparent, and focused on the long-term needs of residents and the community. That means listening to people, planning ahead, using taxpayer dollars carefully, and making sure Walker continues to be a city where families, seniors, businesses, and neighborhoods can thrive.to your bullets here

  • SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS

My husband and I chose to buy our home in Walker because we wanted to live in a stable, well-run city where we could eventually retire. When we moved to West Michigan in 2010, we quickly came to appreciate this region’s strong sense of community. We intend to remain here, in Walker.

One of the things we enjoy most is being able to walk around our neighborhood, meet and chat with neighbors, and appreciate the homes, yards, and gardens people care for with pride. Those everyday connections are part of what makes a city feel safe, welcoming, and strong.

Safe neighborhoods do not happen by accident. They depend on reliable city services, thoughtful planning, responsible public safety, well-maintained roads and infrastructure, and the people who keep the city running every day.

Walker is special because it brings together strong neighborhoods, shopping, local businesses, and industry. As the city grows and welcomes new residents, businesses, and opportunities, we need to keep focusing on the basics that help people feel at home: safe streets, responsive services, good planning, and neighborhoods where people feel connected. My priority is to help keep Walker safe, stable, welcoming, and well-managed.

  • RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING

Responsible budgeting is one of the most important jobs of city government. Residents should know their tax dollars are being used carefully, transparently, and with Walker’s long-term needs in mind.

Throughout my career, I have worked with budgets, financial oversight, governance, and strategic planning. I know that a budget is more than numbers on a page — it shows what we value and what we are planning for.

For Walker, responsible budgeting means protecting core city services like public safety, roads, utilities, parks, and the everyday services residents rely on. It also means asking practical questions before decisions are made: What will this cost long term? How will it affect residents? Is it sustainable?

I believe city government must be careful with taxpayer dollars while also planning ahead. Delaying needed maintenance or making short-term decisions can cost more later.

As City Commissioner, I will bring a practical financial perspective to the table. I will support clear, responsible budgets that protect Walker’s financial stability and help keep our city well-run.

  • INFRASTRUCTURE & PLANNING

As Walker grows, we need to make sure the basics keep working well. That means paying attention to roads, traffic, water and sewer systems, sidewalks, public safety needs, and the everyday city services residents and businesses count on.

Infrastructure may not always be the most exciting topic, but people notice when it is not working. We notice when roads need repair, when traffic becomes frustrating, when drainage is a problem, or when growth puts pressure on city services. Planning ahead helps prevent small problems from becoming bigger and more expensive ones.

I believe Walker’s Master Plan should help guide future decisions, but planning should not happen only on paper. Residents need to be heard, especially when decisions affect their neighborhood, traffic, safety, or daily routines.

As City Commissioner, I will support practical planning, responsible maintenance, and careful decisions about growth. My goal is to help Walker stay well-run, responsive, and prepared for the future.Anything from a sentence to a paragraph works.

  • THOUGHTFUL GROWTH

Walker is growing, and that can be a good thing. New homes, businesses, and development can bring new energy, new services, and a stronger tax base. But growth works best when we think ahead and make decisions that are good for Walker over the long term.

To me, thoughtful growth means asking common-sense questions. How will this affect nearby neighborhoods? What will it mean for roads, traffic, utilities, public safety, and city services? Will it make sense not just today, but five, ten, or twenty years from now?

I believe Walker can welcome new opportunities while still making careful, responsible decisions. We do not need to say yes to everything, and we should not say no to everything either. We need to look at each decision carefully and consider what is best for the whole community.

As City Commissioner, I will support growth that is practical, well-planned, and financially responsible. My goal is to help Walker keep moving forward while staying focused on the long-term needs of residents and the city.
