Governance
Good governance requires preparation, clear process, and respect for the responsibilities of public service. It means understanding the role of a board or commission, reviewing information carefully, working within the law, and making decisions in a way that is transparent and fair.
Throughout my career, I have worked with boards, commissions, staff leaders, volunteers, and community partners. I understand how important it is for decision-makers to be prepared, to respect professional staff, to follow proper process, and to stay focused on the mission and responsibilities of the organization.
My service on the Michigan Civil Rights Commission has deepened my understanding of public accountability. As a member, Chair, and Vice-Chair, I have served as part of a public body responsible for reviewing complex issues, respecting process, and carrying out its duties with care.
As a City Commissioner, I will bring that same respect for good governance to Walker — with a commitment to preparation, transparency, accountability, and decisions that serve the long-term interests of the community.
